Connor Ellis was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and raised in rural South Georgia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University and his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Since becoming a licensed attorney, Connor has spent more than four years serving as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit. During his time as a prosecutor, he has taken more than 35 cases to jury trial and handled thousands of additional cases through various stages of litigation.
Connor has extensive experience handling a wide range of criminal matters, including misdemeanor and traffic offenses, domestic violence, drug trafficking, burglary, theft, sexual battery, child abuse and neglect, failure to register as a sex offender, traveling to meet a minor, solicitation of a minor for sexual exploitation, possession of child pornography, and a variety of firearm offenses.
As a prosecutor, Connor was responsible for managing criminal cases from the initial stages of investigation through post-conviction proceedings. His experience includes extensive motion practice, trial litigation, case evaluation, and negotiation.
Having worked on the prosecution side of criminal cases, Connor brings a unique perspective to the defense of his clients. He understands how prosecutors evaluate cases, develop trial strategies, identify weaknesses in a case, and approach negotiations and mitigation. He uses that experience to develop effective defense strategies tailored to each client and their individual circumstances.
Connor is committed to protecting his clients’ constitutional rights, challenging the government’s case, and holding the State to its burden of proof.
Outside of the office, Connor is an avid reader and an Orlando City Soccer season ticket holder.
