Paul Ghezzi attended Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Communication, graduating cum laude in 1992. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in 1995. While still in law school, he successfully prosecuted 4 jury trials while interning at the Office of the State Attorney in Alachua County.
Paul was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where his family lived for eleven years. He attended Pioneer High School. He participated in sports, including wrestling and baseball. He moved with his family to Central Florida in 1985 and lived with them in Winter Park. Working at Disney World for several years fueled his love for Florida.
Paul has been practicing criminal law for over 25 years. After graduating from law school in 1995, he served as Assistant State Attorney in Manatee County for 3 years. In 1999 he moved back to central Florida and began working as an Assistant State Attorney in Seminole County. While working for the State he prosecuted serious felony cases including 5 capital murder trials. He served Seminole County until October 2006 when he decided to become a criminal defense attorney. While in Seminole County he spent most of that time as the Domestic Violence Division Chief. During that period, he became involved with Safehouse of Seminole where he served on their board.
Paul’s early experience as a prosecutor in state attorney’s offices in Manatee County and Seminole County gave him a thorough preparation for practicing criminal defense. His knowledge of the mind and ways of prosecutors prepared him well for defending clients in person and at trial. Paul is a confident and articulate trial lawyer and has appeared in more than 100 jury trials.
Paul has extensive experience aggressively pursuing justice for his clients and he has represented them in many successful trials. His defense practice included DUIs, armed trafficking, trafficking of narcotics. kidnapping, attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, drug possession, burglary, grand larceny, and other misdemeanors and felonies.
